General Information AUCA Library was founded in 1993 and now it has become an important structural part of the University and the leading information center. AUCA Library plays a crucial role in the informational support of educational process and research in the University. Library creates and encourages the development of up-to-date information medium in AUCA in the field of social, humanitarian, and technical sciences. Above all, it creates information resources in electronic format on the basis of university curriculums, and faculty, students, and researchers requests. One of the priorities of AUCA Library is to provide educational process and research activities of the University with study materials, and also to provide a wide access to information potential of the library for students, faculty and staff of the University. In this regard the Library actively cooperates with instructors and chairmen of the programs on book and curriculum material acquisition for programs and courses. Above all, the Library works with book-selling organizations of Kyrgyzstan, CIS and foreign countries and keeps up with the novelties on book market to form diverse book collections. Library cooperates with international organizations to obtain funding to replenish library resources and collections. Library partners are Open Society Institute (Budapest), Indiana University, SABRE Foundation, US Embassy in Kyrgyzstan, World Bank. At present Library Collection incorporates 70.000 volumes ranging from textbooks, manuals and periodicals to CD-ROMs and audio, video materials. In 2003 Library as an active member and undertaker created library informational consortium in Kyrgyzstan.
